Henry John Drewal

Photography and film have been an integral part of my research on the arts of African and African diaspora peoples. More than 14,000 color slides from fieldwork in Africa (1970-1993) are deposited in the Eliot Elisofen Photo Archive of the National Museum of African Art-Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. They are available for study and for reproduction by request from me. I have produced four documentary films (see CV) and am planning more in the future. These are available for purchase. Please contact me for more information.
